What is World Merit Malaysia?
World Merit Malaysia is the National Network of World Merit Global. We emphasize on the use of the seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for raising awareness, energy and capacity of young people to take local actions that tackle the most pressing global issues of the 21st Century.
World Merit Global partnered with the United Nations in 2015, formally adopting their SDGs at its core. Today, World Merit Malaysia supports citizens who want to contribute in creating positive changes in their communities.
Why We Exist?
Our goal is to mobilize 10,000 citizens of Malaysia in the next 2 years.
We believe in order to scale the impact of positive changes we need to empower the citizen especially the youth to be onboard in creating their own changes in their community. With the mindset of “think global and act local” we aspire to see more of Malaysian youth creating impacts and using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as a framework. Since there is a huge number of SDGs with hundreds of targets and indicators. We believe if each one of us adopt any SDG that we are passionate in – and help achieving it there is a massive impacts that we can create nationally and globally. We are looking forward to provide support for our local councils around the nation for them to be able to achieve their objectives.
We encourage citizens of any age to be part of us especially the youth – since this is a youth led organization.

We are an independent, not-for-profit organization on a mission to empower Malaysian citizen to create and be part of change.
Founded in 2020, World merit Malaysia is a proud member of the World Merit Global, a collective of national councils in over 20 countries worldwide.
Our Areas of Impact
We are supporting all the 17 SDGs and the Meriters that is helping achieving any of the SDGs. But as a team of National Council we are focusing on the 3 key SDGs in Malaysia.
